As we close the chapter on what has undoubtedly been one of our most challenging seasons to date, we just want to take a moment to reflect – and to say a massive well done to every single player, coach, carer, and supporter in the Cornwall PFC family.

This season brought with it some fierce competition and a few tough lessons, but what stood out most wasn’t just the skill on the pitch – it was the resilience. The determination. The way every player kept showing up, kept giving it their all, and kept improving, week after week.
We’ve made progress – real progress – and although it can take time for ideas and tactics to take root, we’re proud of how far we’ve come. As Amy put it, the way we’ve held our own in difficult situations speaks volumes. We’ve battled on, adapted, and kept going. That grit is going to serve us well next season.
And speaking of next season – we’ve got our sights set. We’ll be focusing on:
- Getting to the ball first (show them who’s boss!)
- Sharpening our pick offs
- Marking the line like pros
- Building confidence with block offs
Annette and Amy will be running summer training sessions, so if you’re around and ready to keep that momentum going, you’re more than welcome – just let Annette know your holiday dates so we can plan around them.
A special shout-out to Wayne, who was nominated as our Most Improved Player of the Season! The referees, Megan and Ian, said it was a really tight call between Wayne and a Frome player – a testament to how hard Wayne’s worked and how much progress he’s made. We’re incredibly proud. 🎉⚽️
And honestly? We’re proud of everyone. Every pass, every tackle, every bit of teamwork on and off the court – it’s all part of what makes this club so special. Amy and Annette are, in their own words, very proud of you all. (And let’s be honest, we’re not crying – you are.)
Watch this space for updates about our end-of-year presentations and more training fun. Until then – keep your chairs charged and your spirits high.
