Top honour for Cornwall PFC’s Amy Lee-Julian

Cornwall Powerchair Football Club is delighted to celebrate a fantastic achievement by our chairwoman, Amy Lee-Julian, who was awarded Best Defensive Player at this year’s Geneva’s Cup.

Amy delivered an outstanding tournament, showing exactly why she is such a valued player both for Cornwall PFC and on the wider powerchair football stage. Across the competition, she demonstrated excellent awareness, strong defensive judgement and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure moments.

Her consistency and reading of the game made a real difference throughout the tournament, with Amy repeatedly breaking up attacking play and helping to keep some extremely strong opposition at bay.

Those who know Amy will also know that she is rarely one to make a fuss about her own achievements, which perhaps makes this award all the more enjoyable for the rest of us to celebrate on her behalf.

To be recognised as the tournament’s standout defensive player is a wonderful achievement and a fitting reward for the commitment, skill and determination Amy brings to the sport.

We are immensely proud to see her receive this recognition and to have her representing powerchair football at such a high level.

Huge congratulations, Amy, from everyone at Cornwall PFC. A thoroughly deserved award! 🏆👏

bodmin bingo

Bodmin Community Bingo donation

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in the recent community bingo in Bodmin, organised independently in support of Cornwall Powerchair Football Club. Through your participation, an incredible £500 was raised for the club, and we are extremely grateful.

Although Cornwall PFC was not present at the event, the support shown by those who attended and contributed has made a real and meaningful difference. As a grassroots club, fundraising plays a vital role in helping us cover essential costs such as equipment, training and competition-related expenses, all of which enable our players to continue taking part in the sport they love.

We would like to offer a special thank you to Emma Norris and Finlay for organising the bingo and choosing to support Cornwall PFC through their efforts. Their commitment to the club, both on and off the court, is greatly appreciated, and the time and energy involved in arranging a successful fundraising event does not go unnoticed.

We are incredibly fortunate to be supported by a community that takes the initiative to help in this way. This gesture is a powerful reminder that Cornwall PFC is backed by people who care deeply about inclusion, opportunity and team spirit.

Thank you to everyone involved for supporting Cornwall PFC.

Great start to the season

We are so thrilled to have done so well in our first matches in the Goals Beyond Grass South West Powerchair Football League.

After beating fellow new team, Frome Falcons 7-0 – with five goals, yes FIVE from Amy, and Lauren and Liam scoring one each, we then went on to beat Swindon Rockets 3-1, with Lauren scoring two goals and Liam scoring one.

We’re so proud of all the team for playing really well and kicking off the season in such style!

We’re super excited for the next matches on Saturday, 26 October 2019.
